1. May 2008. My best business month ever?

I won't give you the exact dollar figure, but it's safe to assume that I'll earn more in the month of May 2008 than I did in the last FULL YEAR that I had a pretty decent real job.

So what's going on here? Am I working my tail off to get these results?

Actually I've been working LESS than usual the last several months.

It really does seem that the LESS I work the MORE I make. Kiyosaki first said that and I'm finding it's true.

It's rare that I have time to work more than a few hours per day. Many people don't believe me when I say that because to them it seems like I get so much "work" done, but the fact is I've learned to outsource A LOT.

Most of my "work" time is time spent passing out jobs to other people.

I've learned not to put too much personal info in this newsletter (that's not what you signed up for), but...allow me two short paragraphs to make my point.

I was out of the country with my entire family for the last three months of 2007 so we could adopt a baby girl. Once we got home things got really crazy around here!

Right now my wife is recovering from a very serious accident (trouble walking for the next several weeks) and one of my sons is going through multiple outpatient surgeries and therapy to help deal with physical and emotional restrictions.

With five kids (16 months through 11 years) we have homeschooling to do, guitar lessons, karate lessons, cub scouts, church commitments, other sports, family commitments and I work out regularly. You can't image the laundry!

Who has time for business "work" around here?

Yet with all this "important" and truly FUN family stuff going on...I do manage to get some "work" in!

Here's what's on my "work" plate right now (this is stuff you'll want to hear):

PROJECT 1:
By the end of May I'll be releasing version 6 of the most read, most updated, most purchased, most creative book about online success ever written. "Silent Sales Machine" version six will be available to the world and passed out for zero charge to all past customers that buy (or bought in the past) a copy from SilentSalesMachine.com as well as all members of MySilentTeam.com.

I wrote the update to the book, but the editing, graphics, website design, order tracking, customer support and follow up etc. has all been outsourced. Thanks Ron, Ovi, Bob, clickbank.com, aweber.com, and several fantastic MST members that contributed in various ways.

PROJECT 2:
I'm launching a website that will teach you how to take the Internet marketing skills you have now (just from reading this free newsletter you have a lot to offer) and apply these skills to local businesses for massive profits. Launch date in June (we hope).

The design, content, programming, and maintenance are all outsourced. Thanks Tim, Andrew, Valarie, and several others for pulling this together.

PROJECT 3:
A developer is building a tool that I plan to give you for free that will allow you to grow your mailing list literally without you ever lifting a finger to support it. It's 10 minutes of work for you ONE TIME and you are done forever...and it's free. You'll love that one! We'll profit together as you use it. Very cool concept.

This one is 95% outsourced. I'll have to write a little copy for this one. Thanks Ryan, Ron, Ovi and aweber.com for taking on the hard work!

PROJECT 4:
I'm growing my eBay business, but someone else is doing all the work.

I'm not lifting a finger. Thanks Mary and Jessica!

I could go on, but you get the point.

Day to day I'm doing about 2-3 hours of "business" work...and getting FAR more done. I'm not even doing any of the accounting, record keeping or bill payment. Thanks Jennifer!

The reality is that I could be blowing my family off working 60 hours per week at this stuff and I'd be making far less as a result. All the people I just mentioned above are doing a BETTER job than I could and it costs me LESS money and obviously less time.

I get far more done. They do what they are good at. And you, my loyal customers get the quality products and ideas that you signed up for.

Win-win-win.

What jobs are you doing yourself that you should be paying someone else to do?  Start by figuring out what your working time is worth.

For example if your time is worth $50/hour (trust me - it's worth at least that if you have even minimal Internet Marketing skills) then why are you spending 4 hours per week cutting your grass ($200 of your time) when you could be paying someone $40 to do it? Is that lazy or good sense? Something to think about...

eBay has extending the time to migrate your sites from Commission Junction to eBay's own affiliate program. That deadline has been extended to May 31st for almost every country that eBay serves. The transition is easy so stop procrastinating.

Can you use James' newly updated software for an existing website? Absolutely. One of my websites is in a highly competitive niche so I didn't want to waste my time writing content if my site wouldn't see improvements on Google and in my wallet.

I ran a few keywords and found a hidden jewel in my niche. That same day I posted pages of new content to my site. (a template page with minor detail/picture changes) 3 weeks later, I'm still on Google's 1st page for 6 of the 14 keywords. And I've seen a jump in my commissions directly related to those new pages.

Seriously, why fight your direct competition for a few keywords when there are "hidden jewels" that haven't been found?
